Teach Them Diligently, offers encouragement at every corner. Homeschooling families from around the world come to listen to some of the top speakers in the know on homeschool issues.
They make sure all the bases are covered, from young children that stay with their parents, and may need a place to run and play or sit and relax, while allowing their parents to watch the main speaker on a close circuit TV, to a track especially for the Special Needs Family that will help them learn to help their special children reach their potential.
They aren’t forgetting the leaders of our family either…the fathers. They have a special breakfast with some of the big names in homeschool and Christian circles…Norm Wakefield, Voddie Baucham, Stephen Kendrick and more. My Hot Guy is hoping that by some miracle that he is able to come to the Omaha convention, but with farming, there is no way to plan ahead.
So, what about the children ages four through teens? Well, there are programs for them too.
Battle for Truth for Children ages 4-11:
Enlist in the fight against the Christian’s three major enemies — the world, the flesh, and their commanding officer, the Devil. Uniformed in the Armor of God, we’ll study the Bible in age-specific squadrons and complete tactical exercises, all designed to help you be all that you can be in the army of the Lord.
Four 12 for Children ages 12 and up:
There are two tracks for those 13 and over. A servant track:
After a full day of training, the teens will earn a Certificate of Completion and work in the Battle for Truth children’s program. They’ll also benefit from several specially-scheduled, Thursday Apologetics sessions led by speakers in the Four-12 Teen Track. A registration in the Servant Leadership track, which is free and includes lunch on Thursday, requires a commitment to attending the entire Convention – from early Thursday through Saturday evening.
And for those 12 and up:
Four-12 Track:
Teens who are looking to strengthen their faith will want to take part in the Four-12 Teen Track. An intensive Apologetics program, Four-12 is sponsored by Apologia Academy, and speakers will include Larry Blythe and Charity Decker from the Apologia team, Rand Hummel, Ken Collier, and others. Learn how to answer unbelieving friends who question convictions. Discover ways to be bolder in sharing the Gospel, and get helpful hints as to how to remain pure in a world that is anything but pure. The 4:12 Track is designed to encourage young people to be examples and a shining light unto the Gospel.
As you can see, Teach Them Diligently is about families. Supporting, encouraging and yes, they pray for them too. I have been working with them for eighteen months now, and can say that, it has been some of the most encouraging time in my life. They paid for my travel expenses to the Homeschool Moms’ Winter Summit, and have become great friends over the last eighteen months. I highly encourage you to try and attend one of the conventions near you.
