Well, this has been a great, exciting week so far. First off, we got our onions and potatoes planted on Sunday, then on Monday, my hubby worked cattle.

This week in our school, we are just focusing on our items for the TOS Review crew. At the beginning of the week, I had twelve reviews to do. Now, we are down to ten. Winking smile

Tuesday, we got our school done in time for lunch, then the farrier came out to trim our horses hooves. Our old mare has been lame off and on ever since we got her in December. Well, after he got done with her, she is moving around better then she has since we got her.

My friend’s Mom was dismissed from the hospital and they were allowed to take her to their hometown for the next weeks to months for her rehabilitation.

Later Tuesday afternoon, I sat down to check my emails and found this:

You are receiving this letter because you have made it on the team as a returning member for the 2011-12 Homeschool Crew. CONGRATULATIONS!

My response….YAAAAAHOOOOOOOO!!! Yep, I am that excited. I can now turn the rest of my homeschool budget into building our library a bit more. Winking smile

After all that excitement, I had to put the topping on the cake, and add a forum to the Christian Homeschoolers Taking a Stand site. This will make discussion and evaluating homeschool resources much easier. Go ahead, get registered (it is painless), and start joining in on some discussions.

Wednesday, we got our school done, and relaxed through the afternoon because I had two long nights with our Hannah…sleep? Who needs sleep?

Thursday, we worked on our review stuff. We will start adding in our regular curriculum on Monday, as we have worked through two reviews this week. Some of the review stuff is what we have been doing, so it won’t be too tough.

I also went on the hunt for a part for my van. Last week, we had some days with some high winds. One of those days, I opened the van door, got in, went to shut it and a gust caught the door…I didn’t let go, and the pull handle/arm rest was ripped off. Our body shop was unable to find it through their dealers, so I went on the net and hunted, hunted, and found it. I had also checked with a couple of dealers and they had to order the whole door panel. So, a part I was getting quoted $400-$800 for ended up being less then $100. Whew…of course now, I am thinking that the insurance might of helped us out quite a bit and we could have thrown all the claims we have together-hit a deer, messing up a head light’s alignment and stability, rock hit the windshield and the wind incident. Oh well, in the end we will be good. ;)

Our mama cat had kittens. She almost always has six. I pray they actually live this time…last year we only ended up one kitten left out of the 24 that were born from her and a couple of other cats. Definitely one of the drawbacks of farm life.

Friday we are just doing computer school, and then diving into the garden and cleaning our home for our Easter gathering with family. I still don’t have all of our cool season stuff in the ground…but since we are still having temperatures more like February or March, I think we will be good. Mama cat has six of her own, and one from another mama that left it on the doorstep…yep, she had kittens the same day, only found one though.

There is nothing like a week full of blessings and excitement to remind you that Christ died for our sins. None of this would be possible without Him.

Now, I am going to go out on a limb here…

All week, I have heard all about Easter this, Christ that and so forth…However, I find this a little troubling…Why? Because it seems that if we are so focused just for this one week, known as Holy Week, that maybe, we aren’t staying focused during the other 50 weeks…I believe the same thing happens around Christmas.

We should be living every day, week, glorifying and spreading the Good Word of God, not just two weeks out of the year. This is one reason, we haven’t done anything “overly special” in regards to Easter this week…I want my children to remember He died and rose again EVERY DAY. I want them to live their lives celebrating Holy Week everyday. If we aren’t remembering His sacrifices for us everyday, then we will lose our focus, and return to a life that is not in His guidance.

I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Philippians 3:10-12

Our Spiritual life needs spiritual nourishment. image

He answered, “Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been granted to you; but to the rest, they are made known through parables so that ‘they may look but not see, and hear but not understand.’

“This is the meaning of the parable. The seed is the word of God.

Those on the path are the ones who have heard, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts that they may not believe and be saved.

Those on rocky ground are the ones who, when they hear, receive the word with joy, but they have no root; they believe only for a time and fall away in time of trial.

As for the seed that fell among thorns, they are the ones who have heard, but as they go along, they are choked by the anxieties and riches and pleasures of life, and they fail to produce mature fruit.

But as for the seed that fell on rich soil, they are the ones who, when they have heard the word, embrace it with a generous and good heart, and bear fruit through perseverance.~Luke 8:10-15

In no way, am I saying not to celebrate Easter…or whatever name you want to give it. I am saying let’s keep our focus this strong everyday. Part of the problem in our current society of culture, is that we go to church on Sunday all decked as Christ worshiping folks, leave the church and don’t think about it again til the next Sunday morning…Honestly, it isn’t working for us…Take a look around…do you like what you see?

This post is part of Weekly-wrapup…take a look around and see how other’s weeks ended.
