It’s that time again, the posting of the Great Homeschool Family Curriculum Plan. If you have been homeschooling long at all, you know that this will most likely have a few changes as the year progresses. I mean, really, our plans are just that, a plan, it is not set in stone, what we think is going to work, won’t and if you are homeschooling, you MUST remember that you as a homeschool parent have the flexibility and freedom to make changes to fit your family’s needs.
My recommendation is to homeschool from your child’s interest. Even though you will see a writing, grammar and spelling curriculum listed below, we are using those as a guide, rather than a daily assignment. I will assign writing and spelling from their history, geography and science lessons. In fact our supplements for those already include that. This will help me to help my children utilize their grammar, writing and spelling skills in a real life type of scenario.
We do a lot of subjects as family school. This helps cut down on a lot of the busy work things you see in a lot of curriculum.
You may notice that I went from having a third grader to a sixth grader. You are not seeing things, and I will explain this more in another post at a little later date.
Character Building for Families This will be one of our Family Bible Studies. I love the layout and open discussion this book has arranged.
