You, Yes, you!! Frazzled? Ready to pull your hair out? Always looking for a way to get away? Think you are never good enough?
Well, I am going to tell you something you don’t want to hear…
Stop EVERYTHING.
Take a deep breath and grab your Bible.
Do you have your priorities straight?
1 Corinthians 14:40 (NASB) But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
First start making a simple list of three or five things you want to complete each day…
1. Time with God
2. Meals
3. Husband & Children
4. Take care of self—shower, dressed, hair brushed.
5. Straighten the house.
Your list may look different. Mine does, I have the basics down, but then my bigger projects I am only spending about 30 mins on each per day. I will also only work on 2 maybe 3 extra big projects at a time.
So, let’s talk about what we are supposed to be as wives and mothers. Are we supposed to be running here and there and everywhere, tending to this, that and something else away from home?
Titus 2:5 (NASB)
to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
Wow, this verse is loaded ehh?
Be Sensible~So, we need to think about and plan our days. I am not saying we have to stay home all the time. But, I think we can all agree, that many “stay at home” moms are not home EVER, except to sleep…
Workers at home~I don’t think this means to work from home, though I do, but my work from home, does not come before my work AT home.
Subject to their own husbands~Do you REALLY submit to your husband, or is he a bit afraid to ask you to?
Honoring the Word of God~Always, boy that puts thing in perspective.
Really, if you are doing all that you should be, you don’t have time to be out and about all the time. I am not saying you can’t be social, but so many times, socializing is not much more than a time to gather, complain and gossip.
Complain…
Philippians 2:14 (NASB) Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
Do ALL things. Notice that all? OUCH!!
Don’t complain about everything, or anything. Yeah, we all do’ it, and yes, even I do it way too much.
In all seriousness though, if you are frazzled, most likely that is feeding off on your family, your children and your husband. Is that being a helpmeet? Is that training your children up, like you desire?
Let’s slow down, enjoy that cup of coffee or other treat, and work together with our family’s together as God intended.
Are you frazzled because you are too busy, too far from home? Are you frazzled because your husband can’t depend on you? How can you change your days to better meet what God has planned for you?
